Why I am an abortion doctor

Great speech, via Nora.  I’m not ashamed to say I teared up a little reading this.  Ok, maybe a little.

Why I am an abortion doctor

She told me if her parents found out she was pregnant she would be disowned and kicked out of the family home. She also told me that her brothers would murder her boyfriend, and I believed her. About an hour after her operation I and my nurse saw her and her boyfriend walking out of the clinic hand in hand, and I said to my nurse, “Look at that. We saved two lives today.”

Roadtrip starts in the morning

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

So I’m off on my roadtrip tomorrow morning. For details on the plan, see http://roadtrip.mattlehrer.com/wiki and see this map for my current location. I have a Boost mobile phone transmitting my location to a database stored on this server using Mologogo software. In order to get it to work, I owe a lot of credit to the script provided by Steve Crow at his website. I made some changes to allow for the huge amount of datapoints I plan to generate and I hope it works…

I should be posting plenty of pictures to flickr and I hope to have time to get some good videos posted to vimeo. I’ll also try to post here as much as I can.

One Number That Will Ring All Your Phones - New York Times

anyone who spends some time contemplating GrandCentral’s possibilities will soon see the bigger picture: this service removes your location as a consideration in phone calling, much the same way that the TiVo makes a TV show’s broadcast time unimportant. In other words, GrandCentral has rewritten the rules in the game of telephone.

This is a great article.  Read it.

Apple Matters | A Legitimate Reason to Hate the Zune (And Microsoft Too)

if one went into a store and bought a bag of Apples and a big box of razor blades on October 30* would a reasonable person expect to pay an up charge because those razor blades might go into the apples which could then be distributed to trick or treaters? Oddly enough, that is precisely what is happening with the Zune
